Celebrate Earth Day by protecting the Athabasca River, and the people and wildlife that depend on it, by keeping trash out of it!

Gather @ Athabasca River Front park, 12 PM

We'll meet up at the Athabasca River Front Park to get organized. We'll go over some safety tips and pick areas to cover.


Remember to dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and bring gloves if you have some.

Cleanup Day News and Tips

  • We’ll meet at the waterfront in front of the stage at 12 pm.
  • We’ll go over some safety stuff and how to sort the material.
  • We will supply bags and disposable gloves.
  • There will be a water station to fill your own water bottles.
  • If you have a pick up stick, please bring it.
  • Dress for the weather and ground conditions. Some areas may be wet.
  • We'll fan out from the Riverfront Stage.
  • We will wrap up at 2 pm.

About Cleanup Day

The Great Global Cleanup is a worldwide campaign to remove billions of pieces of trash from neighborhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails, and parks— reducing waste and plastic pollution, improving habitats, and preventing harm to wildlife and humans. This program aims to continue clean ups every day of the year for a brighter, greener, and cleaner planet.
